TPA and Your Pursuit of Happiness
The Performers Academy brings professional performing artists and passionate instructors to a synergistic environment near downtown Jacksonville. Sounds complicated from the outside but, once we got started, TPA turned out to be exactly what we were meant to do. You might be why.
This environment encourages individual growth while offering exposure to other talented individuals. This formula of empowering individuals has led to graduates performing internationally with Cirque De Soleil to getting cast in films roles from Orlando to California. The Performers Academy isn't supposed to be the end of your journey, just the beginning.

Acting without Agony Workshop with Dwight

Acting without Agony is an alternative to the popular "Method Acting," where students are taught a more practical (and safe) way to reach their emotions and control them while on stage or in front of a camera. This fun-focused technique strays away from the endless questions and self-dissection of the Method, allowing the performer to work quickly into character easily, without making acting a complex and painful experience. Actors will also be taught how to analyze a scene to create the most believable and entertaining characters quickly and efficiently - a necessity in this new media of "time is money."
This 4 hour workshop will be held the second Saturday of every month from 11am - 3pm. Ages 14 and over. Price for this workshop is $100. Email acting@theperformersacademy if you have any questions.
