The Performers Academy

The Jacksonville Centre of the Arts and The Performers Academy are co-hosting a benefit celebrating a year of mutual growth in performing arts training and future scholarship opportunities. Jacksonville Genesis is a collaborative event combining a showcase dinner and the 2011 Quantum Benefit Dance Concert on June 11th.

The Performers Academy has summer camps for dancing, musical theatre and acting. These Jacksonville camps run all day and include lunches.

Arthur Duncan Showcase and Workshops Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 Seating begins: 6 p.m. Showcase and Q&A: 6:15 p.m. Intermediate Workshop: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Advanced Workshop 7:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Reception afterwards Cost: $20 per person (Limited space available; maximum 25 dancers per workshop)

The new Acting Academy is going to raise the standard for acting classes to promote Jacksonville as a city for creating and promoting independent movies.

The Performers Academy has courses designed for the 2011 Douglas Anderson and LaVilla auditions in singing, dance and acting.

Broadway veteran Lisa Clarson teaches performance basics of singing and dancing in this Holiday Themed Music Camp. Friends and family will have something to cheer about during the free holiday performance following the camp. $150 includes lunch, performance and after hours care until 5.

The Performers Academy has developed programs to simulate the Douglas Anderson and La Villa auditioning environment while being helping with the selection and perfection of the audition pieces. The program is taught by our accomplished and established instructors for dance, acting and singing.

Horace Bass and Vince Paul will lead a 2 day modeling seminar (including posing for the camera, posture with poise and making modeling into a career) followed by a day long photo shoot with Matt Aponte and Allie Mann. October 22nd - 24th . $250.

The Performers Academy is excited to join local filmmakers in presenting Thespians - an exciting and revealing documentary about 4 acting troupes competing in the Florida State Thespian competition. 4 PM on October 16th @ The Florida Theatre.
