Collaborative Benefit to support future of Jacksonville Performing Arts

The Jacksonville Centre of the Arts and The Performers Academy are co-hosting a benefit celebrating a year of mutual growth in performing arts training and future scholarship opportunities.  Jacksonville Genesis is a collaborative event combining a showcase dinner and the 2011 Quantum Benefit Dance Concert on June 11th.

Kathryn McAvoy, executive director of the Performers Academy, is as proud of the past as she is excited about the upcoming future for Jacksonville talent.  “When we opened a year ago, we wanted to provide a safe, creative environment for performers to flourish.  I am proud of what we have accomplished so far.  I know we can do so much more as awareness and support spreads.  I am so excited to play a small part in the success of these students.”  The mission of The Performers Academy was to create synergistic relationships for talent, production and training to raise the standard for performing arts in Jacksonville.  Jacksonville Genesis will be another example of increased efficiency and results through sharing strengths.  "This is an exciting display of how the performing arts can work together.  The showcase displays creative synergy at it's best."

The Performers Academy is hosting a VIP Patron Party showcasing the success that one year of performing arts training has generated with singers, actors, and dancers. Hosted from 6:00 to 7:30 at Jacksonville University’s Terry Recital Hall, this event costs $65 and includes hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and live entertainment and a VIP ticket to 2011 Quantum.

Following the Patron Preview Party is the 13th QUANTUM Concert from the Jacksonville Centre of the Arts.  Kezia Rolle, executive director and former graduate of JCArts, knows that her students have trained with discipline and poise for this unbelievable concert. “QUANTUM provides Jacksonville with an exquisite Taste of the Arts.  All of movement flows through the veins of the dancers and showcases their intensity and dedication to their craft. I'm so proud of their many accomplishments and I am joined by the local community in anticipation of each year’s performance”

The Jacksonville Centre of the Arts annual Quantum Benefit features pre-professional students in a progressive, modern dance performance that gives students an opportunity to use dance to express themselves.  Quantum is from 7:30-9 PM and general admission tickets cost $25. The performance will be hosted in the Swisher Theatre of Jacksonville University.  Proceeds benefit the Jacksonvillle Centre of the Arts’ 501(c)(3) scholarship program that makes pre-professional training accessible.
