Meisner Technique Program (ages 16+). Personal interview for admission.

Mondays and Wednesdays 6-9pm    Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-1pm

The Meisner Technique develops the actor's toolbox over a series of sessions. The toolbox contains all the skills required for a complete performance. Open to committed individuals who want to improve their acting by exploring personal development. Find vulnerability and self-expression through group-building and "emotional honesty" in a fun, supportive and challenging class.

The Meisner program provides successive levels of training in Sanford Meisner’s technique. Based in partner work and shared observations, actors learn how to be brave and free in the moment. Levels of training ("semesters" 1-6) include tuning into instincts, connecting in partner exercises, loosening up in warm-ups, learning cold reading skills for auditions, and practicing scene study and improvisation. Advanced training includes character development, relationships and back-stories, script analysis and monologues. Program graduates receive certification upon completion of the series of six semesters. A life-changing and rewarding class for those committed to personal growth through the craft of acting.

Acting Without Agony with Dwight Cenac Saturdays quarterly. All ages.

Acting Without Agony is a technique in which students are taught a practical (and safe) way to reach their emotions and control them while on stage or in front of a camera. This fun-focused technique strays away from the questions and self-dissection of the Method. AWA allows the performer to work into character easily and quickly without making acting a complex and painful experience. Actors will also be taught how to analyze a scene to create the most believable and entertaining characters: a necessity in this new media of "time is money." Check "Upcoming Events" for the next workshop.
