
The Children's Acting class is designed to foster creativity and imagination in your children as well as give them confidence to present themselves well in any situation they encounter. It is a fun and an active class which includes an introduction to Acting basics, acting technique, working with a script as well as theater games and improvisations. The young actors will also work from a children's play especially chosen by our faculty. Held in Acting Suite 1.

Finally, high-quality training for teens! This on-camera class focuses on auditioning, scene work and working off your partner in the moment. Catered to 12- to 16-year old students interested in pursuing acting as a profession. Held on a real production studio set, you watch exercises on the screen, receive coaching on your technique and take home a DVD of your work each class. Materials fee $40. Held in the Annex Studio.

This drop-in class is intended for those interested in practicing without the commitment. Pay by donation. Class includes a rotation of instructors working improv exercises, warm-ups, partner work, cold readings and audition practice. All levels welcome. Held in the Annex Studio.

Joanna C Horton's classic two-year program in the Meisner technique is the only complete acting program in northeast Florida.
The technique will provide you with the complete toolbox of skills to soar in the acting profession using partner exercises, repetition, warm-ups, cold readings, character work, emotional prep, scene study and improvisation work. All actors start at Semester One. This style of acting uses "emotional honesty" in which we don't have to pretend to make something happen: we study real responses and real behavior. Held in the Annex Studio.

Dwight Cenac teaches the practical techniques developed by Donald Richardson called Acting Without Agony, a way for actors to reach their emotions and control them while on stage or in front of a camera. This fun-focused technique allows the performer to work quickly to assume roles. Actors will also be taught how to analyze a scene and to create the most believable and entertaining characters with the same efficiency. Held in Acting Suite 1.

Dwight Cenac is a Producer/Writer/Director/Actor and Jacksonville native. Dwight has been directing films (features, commercials, shorts, and television shows) for six years. Dwight is the vice president and producer at Crown Films.

Director of Shipwreck Theatre Co. and Exploding Bishops Improv Comedy Crew, Scott Abrams brings you years of talent and skill in improvisation. Practice in games and various forms of improvisation like those used by Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Upright Citizens Brigade, the Groundlings and Second City.
